dsh-chroma-cut
DeepSeek Harness bundle for Chroma Cut: cut chroma-backed raster assets into transparent PNGs while preserving dark anti-aliased outlines.
The bundle reuses the same Python MCP server as the Codex plugin and exposes
its two tools to the agent through the DSH-shipped
@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-client
bridge:
mcp__chroma_cut__cut_asset— cut one image region into a transparent PNG.mcp__chroma_cut__cut_sheet— run a JSON batch job with optional group normalization and QA previews.
Install
dsh plugin --profile <name> add dsh-chroma-cut
Alternatives without npm:
GitHub Release tarball:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add https://github.com/avdergh/chroma-cut/releases/download/v0.1.3/dsh-chroma-cut-0.1.3.tgzLocal tarball: run
pnpm packin this directory, then:dsh plugin --profile <name> add ./dsh-chroma-cut-<version>.tgz
Restart the profile. The bundle contributes a two-row layer:
chroma-cut-runtime— resolves this package's launcher path and publishes it as thechromaCutRuntimeservice.chroma-cut-mcp— a@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-clientrow that starts the launcher over stdio and registers the server tools.
Verify the layer without starting the profile:
dsh --profile <name> --dump-config # shows the "# == dsh-chroma-cut" layer
Runtime bootstrap
The launcher finds a Python 3.11+ interpreter, creates a dedicated venv under
~/.cache/chroma-cut-mcp/<version> (the same cache the Codex plugin uses),
installs the pinned chroma-cut source there, and then runs the stdio MCP
server. The first profile start after installation pays the one-time setup
cost; later starts reuse the cached runtime. If the server process dies, the
MCP bridge reconnects automatically.
Environment overrides:
CHROMA_CUT_PYTHON— exact Python 3.11+ interpreter to use.CHROMA_CUT_SOURCE— pip spec replacing the pinned Git tag (for example a local checkout path during development).CHROMA_CUT_RUNTIME_DIR— runtime venv directory.
Notes
- MCP server commands run outside the agent sandbox; install this bundle only from sources you trust.
dshships@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-clientas a built-in dependency, so this bundle adds no npm dependencies of its own.- The Python runtime is not bundled: users need Python 3.11+ on PATH (the same requirement as the CLI and the Codex plugin).
