Deep Signal for DeepSeek Harness

@thewaifu/dsh-deepsignal adds a news intelligence and U.S. market workspace to the DeepSeek Harness WebUI. It opens as a resizable panel beside your existing conversation, so you can follow news topics and market movement without leaving Harness.

Requirements

• Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0
• DeepSeek Harness WebUI
• Internet access for news and market data
• A modern desktop browser

Check your Node.js version before installing:

node --version

If the version is lower than 22.19.0, upgrade to Node.js 22.19 or later, or use Node.js 24.

Install and Start

Add Deep Signal to the Harness Web profile:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add @thewaifu/dsh-deepsignal

Start the WebUI:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

Open the address printed in the terminal, then select Deep Signal on the right side of the WebUI.

If dsh is already installed globally, you can use dsh instead of npx @deepseek-ai/dsh in every command.

Use Deep Signal

The panel contains four sections:

Drag the panel's left edge toward the left when you need more reading space. The panel will not shrink below its initial readable width. Double-click the resize handle to restore the default width. While open, Deep Signal stays above other plugin launcher controls so they cannot cover its content.

Browse news

Open News to view the latest reports from the supported public news feed. The newest reports appear first.

• Choose Today, Last 7 days, or Last 30 days to change the period.
• Select one of the ten leading topic bubbles to filter related stories.
• Larger bubbles represent topics that appear in more stories.
• Select Read brief to open the story summary inside Deep Signal.
• Select View original to read the complete Markdown report inside Deep Signal.
• Related-story actions open the corresponding brief or report directly, even when you are browsing far down the list.

Deep Signal does not replace an unavailable feed with fabricated stories. If the news service cannot be reached, the panel shows an unavailable state so you can retry later.

View stocks

Open Stocks to inspect supported U.S. equities. The panel shows public quote data, daily price movement, price ranges, and recent adjusted closing history when the market source provides them.

Quotes may be delayed and are provided for general information only. Deep Signal does not provide brokerage, account, or order-routing features, and nothing in the panel is investment advice.

Language and appearance

Deep Signal follows the language selected in Harness Settings. Changing Harness between Chinese and English updates the plugin interface and requests the matching report language.

The plugin also follows Harness Light, Dark, and System appearance modes. It does not store a separate theme preference.

Update

Stop the running WebUI, then run:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web update @thewaifu/dsh-deepsignal
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

Refresh the browser after Harness restarts. Use a hard refresh if an older interface is still visible.

Remove

Stop the WebUI, then remove the plugin from the Web profile:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web remove @thewaifu/dsh-deepsignal

Troubleshooting

Deep Signal is missing from the WebUI

Check the Web profile:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web list

The list must contain @thewaifu/dsh-deepsignal. If it is missing, run the install command again and restart the WebUI.

The interface did not update

Stop the old WebUI process, update the plugin, restart Harness, and hard-refresh the browser page.

News is unavailable

Check your internet connection and retry. A temporary upstream interruption does not affect the normal Harness conversation interface.

Installation reports EBADENGINE

Your Node.js version does not meet the package requirement. Upgrade to Node.js 22.19 or later, or use Node.js 24, reopen the terminal, and install again.

Data and Privacy

• Deep Signal does not require a DeepSeek API key.
• It reads public news reports and public stock-market data.
• News briefs and complete reports are displayed inside the plugin reader.
• It does not provide financial transactions or trading capabilities.
